Crossroad is looking for a Recreation Specialist, who is a positive role model responsible for the development and implementation of recreation treatment and behavior management plans for each Crossroad resident. S/he also develops, manages, and supervises recreation activities, both on our campus as well as in the community, and ensures that a therapeutic treatment atmosphere is present in all recreation activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management, Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Education, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Prior experience working with children and adolescents.
- Develop, coordinate, schedule, prepare, and supervise residents in recreation activities.
- Excellent time management, organizational, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Contribute to team atmosphere and development of treatment outlines.
- Be flexible and work both independently and within a team environment.
- Must be at least 21 years old - with a valid driver's license.
- Ability to manage crisis, and be certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and First Aid/CPR/AED.
- Work Tuesday - Saturday from 10:30 am to 7 pm.
