American Traveler is hiring a Chemo Certified RN for an Oncology/Med-Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring CA RN licensure and willingness to float to Med Surg.

Work in the Oncology unit of a hospital setting
-
Unit has 8 beds with an average census of 8 patients
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients
-
Care for Medical/Surgical patients requiring telemetry as well as patients receiving Chemotherapy
-
Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
-
Required to work every other weekend
-
Must be willing to float to Med Surg as needed
-
May also float to a nearby facility approximately 15 minutes away with advance notice and a 1-hour paid orientation provided
-
Cerner charting system experience preferred
-
Active CA RN license required (EMSA license not accepted)
-
Current certifications required: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS, and Chemotherapy Certification
-
TNCC or TCAR certification required before start

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
-
Experience with 1:4 patient ratio required
-
Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access and management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, and IV starts and maintenance
-
Oncology skills required including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
-
Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, feeding tube care, and pre/post hemodialysis management required
-
Experience with heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration), and PCA required
-
Recent Nursys report required
-
One supervisory reference required
-
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
-
Provide nursing care to Med-Surg and Oncology patients requiring telemetry monitoring and chemotherapy administration
-
Responsibilities include managing ports, central and peripheral lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
-
Additional responsibilities include monitoring cardiac drips, managing renal failure and hemodialysis patients, and administering chemotherapy
-
Complete a required 1-hour CA Harassment training course
-
Additional training modules (approximately 4 hours) may be required and are recorded in Cornerstone
-
