Duties
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functional and ready for procedures
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgeries by passing instruments, suturing, and managing surgical tools with precision
- Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
- Monitor vital signs and physiological responses of patients during surgery, providing timely updates to the team
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile field
Requirements
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program; current certification required
- Proven OR experience in hospital settings, including medical-surgical units and ambulatory surgery centers
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and infection control practices
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environment
