Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our Custodial/Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all staff, visitors, and clients. This full-time position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing various areas such as offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of custodial supplies and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify cleaning needs and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure that all cleaning materials and chemicals are used safely and according to established guidelines.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of events, including moving furniture and setting up equipment as needed.
- Respond promptly to cleaning requests and emergencies, ensuring a quick resolution to maintain a clean environment.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and inventory of supplies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, as well as safety protocols.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork and customer service.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
