Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, and spray equipment like airless paint sprayers.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to accurately execute painting plans on various surfaces.
- Perform plastering, caulking, and trim carpentry to achieve smooth finishes and seamless edges.
- Handle construction site tasks including scaffolding setup, drywall finishing, stucco application, masonry work, and concrete finishing as needed.
- Conduct restoration and renovation work by matching colors using color theory principles and ensuring surface integrity with plastering or masonry techniques.
- Maintain safety standards by properly handling power tools, scaffolding equipment, welding tools (if applicable), and adhering to site protocols during industrial or construction painting projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential and commercial painting projects with a strong understanding of construction estimating processes.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns, and power tools for various surface preparations.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and basic math for accurate measurements and material calculations.
- Familiarity with construction site safety practices including scaffolding setup and handling industrial painting equipment like airless sprayers.
- Experience with specialized tasks such as restoration work, fixture installation, framing carpentry, masonry or stucco application is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites with hands-on handyman experience or related fields such as remodeling or renovation projects.
