About FCLC:
Located in the heart of downtown Downers Grove and founded in 1961, FCLC is more than just a daycare—we are a learning center where children begin a lifelong love of learning. Made up of 4 classrooms (infants, toddlers, 3s, and preschool) we offer year-round care and education to all of our children.
Job(s) Summary: Lead preschool teacher with 1 co-teacher. Part-time or full-time options available. Monday-Friday. MUST BE TQ.
Teachers will:
- Engage in teamwork with colleagues to share best practices in classroom management and curriculum development. Must be a team player!
- Design and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate early childhood education and basic developmental principles.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and focus on strategies that promote respect, cooperation, and independence.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor Children’s development.
- Collaborate with families through clear communication.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development.
- Have a basic understanding of Il DCFS licensing standards and be able to uphold them.
- Be comfortable with (or willing to learn) emergent curriculum. Furthermore, be able to utilize emergent curriculum while still working on the basic skills to have the children be “kindergarten ready”
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers or preschools is preferred.
- Experience leading a preschool (4s & 5s) curriculum is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic childhood development theories.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Certification or training in early childhood education necessary.
- Must meet DCFS licensing requirements and background checks.
- CPR and First Aid is a plus.
**while FCLC is housed in the First Congregational Church there is no religious curriculum, and we are open to any and all interested candidates!

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
