Part-Time Adult/Teen Services Coordinator
LaGrange Association Library seeks a creative, outgoing and enthusiastic individual to plan, implement, and oversee a variety of programs to meet the cultural, recreational, and informational needs of our teen and adult patrons. This role includes creating, coordinating, publicizing events, and conducting outreach. The Coordinator works collaboratively with other library staff to enhance user experience and ensure the library is a welcoming, inclusive space for the community.
Under the direct supervision of the Library Director, the Adult/Teen Services Coordinator is responsible for:
Programming:
· Design, develop, implement, and evaluate a variety of programs and services for adult and teen patrons, including book clubs, educational workshops, recreational activities, and cultural events
· Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to develop partnerships and co-sponsor events
· Active participation in events and programs, including setting up/cleaning up rooms and arranging materials
Outreach and Community Engagement:
· Conduct outreach activities to promote library services and programs to adults and teens in the community
· Develop and maintain relationships with the local schools, community organizations, and other partners
· Represent the library at community events, meetings, and other public engagements
Administrative Duties:
· Prepare reports and maintain records related to program attendance, collection usage, and other relevant statistics to be provided to the Library Director
· Help maintain the Library’s social media presence and work with the Youth Services Coordinator, Webmaster and Library Director to promote all library programs on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and in the monthly e-newsletter, and on the website
Professional Development:
· Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with trends and advancements in library services and programming
· Attend workshops, conferences, and other training sessions as required
Qualifications:
· An Associate’s Degree or higher in Education, Library Science, English or Communications or closely related fields and/or 2 or more years of experience in a library setting or performing duties related to the oversight, coordination and administration of programs for adults and/or teenagers.
· Strong organizational and project management skills
· Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media, technology, and Canva for program marketing, promotion, and community engagement
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
· Creative thinking, initiative, and problem-solving abilities
Hours: 20 per week, including evenings and weekends as necessary to accommodate programs and events
Salary & Benefits: $24 per hour, paid vacation, sick, personal, and flex days, and a retirement savings plan
