The Vetting Zoo LLC is a mixed animal veterinary practice based out of Palmyra, PA looking for a veterinary technician with at least 2 years of experience to join our small, privately owned practice. The position requires superior communication skills and ability to multitask successfully in a fast paced environment. The applicant must be reliable and willing to learn new things.
The Vetting Zoo is a family-like work environment, that offers health insurance and a generous employee discount for personal pets. Applicant must have reliable transportation and be able to work in a variety of weather conditions, as we do make housecalls all year long to include farmcalls. Farm animal experience is a plus but not required.
The applicant hired will learn to perform and/or work with IDEXX in-house bloodwork and urinalysis equipment, Summus Medical Laser, digital radiography, surgery monitoring (2 surgery and 1 dental table with an iM3 dental unit), venipuncture, IV catheterization, vaccine administration, restraint, reception tasks/customer service, nail trimming, and much more!
Scheduling options include a rotating four 10 hour shift or a five 8 hour shift which can include rotating of morning and evening hours. Either schedule is available. Although we do not have after hours on call emergency service, we do provide inpatient hospitalization over the weekends and holidays. A veterinarian and technician share treatment duties. Technicians rotate on calls monthly and considered overtime hours.
