Job Title: Project Manager – Underground Utilities

Salary Range: $100,000 – $140,000 per year
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civil construction and underground utilities to oversee municipal and commercial utility infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for managing projects from planning through completion while ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities
- Manage underground utility construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts.
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors.
- Review construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, and quality standards.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Procure materials and coordinate equipment and project logistics.
- Maintain communication with owners, engineers, municipalities, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company procedures.
- Resolve field issues while keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil or underground utility construction.
- Proven experience managing water mains, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, force main, or site utility projects.
- Experience with excavation, trenching, and municipal utility infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
- Experience managing subcontractors and field operations.
- Ability to interpret civil construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software (Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with municipal public works projects.
- Knowledge of HDD, directional boring, trenchless construction, or jack-and-bore operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
