Position - Grounds and Maintenance Technician
This is a position located at our apartment complex in Baraboo, WI. Travel to other Decker properties is a possibility for the right candidate.
Full time first shift position 40 hours per week, with rotating on call schedule for weekends
As a Grounds and Maintenance Technician, you will report to the On-Site Manager who will act as your team captain, and carry out plays called by your Maintenance Supervisor who will act as your leader.
- Maintain cleanliness of grounds to include parking lot, buildings and all common areas.
- Maintain the physical condition of the property
- Pick up debris and remove other objects from the property
- Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching and applying pesticides
- Mowing lawns, remove grass clippings, and other landscaping duties as assigned. (Lawn mower provided)
- Planting and watering flowers and shrubs.
- Pulling weeds, trimming, and litter control
- Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions
- Address issues with landscaping and snow/ice removal
- Snow shoveling and salting walks and ice
- Complete snow removal from all driveway areas and sidewalks. (A company truck, plow, and other equipment are provided)
- Maintenance work and help with apartment turnovers.
- Changing lights, interior/exterior
- Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.
- Clean out vacated apartments
- Assist Service Team with service requests as needed
- Perform light plumbing and electrical duties.
- Procuring supplies, parts and other maintenance items.
Painting/Staining
Small engine repair and maintenance
- Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment
- Changing belts
- Sharpen blades.
- Change oil.
Miscellaneous
- Must not be afraid of extension ladders
- Emergency Calls - must be available to assist with emergency calls.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Communicate effectively with residents and coworkers even in difficult situations
- Operating computers and other technological devices to access email, and company utilized software
- Meet task deadlines as assigned
- Effective communication
- Responding to issues outside of normal work schedule when required
- Accurately reporting all time worked by clocking in and out on company software/app
- Following all company policies and procedures
- Candidate must have a neat personal appearance and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Criminal background check is conducted.
