ISL Manager

Summary
Under general supervision of the Developmental Disabilities Professional (DDP), responsible for the oversight of the Direct Support Professionals, as well as providing habilitation to the clients as outlined in the personal plans. Responsible for the daily operation of the ISL and ensuring the standards of quality are maintained according to the policies of Nova Center of the Ozarks and the Department of Mental Health.
Professional Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the ISL Manager will be to oversee the day-to-day operations of the ISL and take a leadership role when decisions need to be made. Must be able to keep the DDP informed at all times of any important daily occurrences, and to help make sure all necessary daily documentation has been completed. When working direct care with the individuals, all DSP job duties as defined in the DSP job description are required.
Required Qualifications
- Prefer a minimum of one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Class E driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required.
- Certified in CPR, First Aid, Mandt and Medication Administration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to maintain a record of punctuality and good attendance required.
- Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively in accordance with policy.
- Ability to work flexible hours required.
- Demonstrate the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to follow and carry out the goals of the client’s personal plan.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
- Ability to address difficult team situations with professionalism and collaboration.
- Ability to stand, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds as well as pull or push items.
Job Duties
- Become familiar with and follow all Nova Center of the Ozarks policies and procedures.
- Ensure all staff follow Nova Center of the Ozarks’ policies and procedures and are made aware of any changes.
- Attend annual and quarterly meetings for the individuals.
- Report any concerns regarding policy and procedure to the DDP.
- Ability to supervise, train, and support staff, including performance management and ongoing development.
- Monitor staffing levels, schedules, and coverage in order to maintain required coverage and minimize overtime. Assist with emergency coverage as needed.
- Ensure compliance with documentation and safety with all applicable regulations.
- Safeguard and maintain confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and a safe environment for clients and staff.
- Take initiative and show creativity in problem solving.
- Communicate directly and clearly in both verbal and written form.
- Always maintain a proper role as a representative of Nova Center of the Ozarks in the community.
- Maintain a home-style environment, safety, cleanliness and maintenance of the ISL.
- In conjunction with the DDP, responsible for supervision and training of staff.
- Oversee implementation of person-centered plans are evident in daily care of the individuals.
- Monitor the health needs of the clients. Attend regular client medical appointments and provide information to the DDP.
- Oversee and ensure budgeting and financial records are complete and accurate.
- Responsible for ensuring that all documentation is fully prepared before putting it into books. Notify staff of any documentation that needs to be completed or corrected.
- Keeping an up-to-date inventory of supply items available and creating shopping lists for supplies needed.
- Required to be the on-call manager during selected weekend (rotates with other ISL managers).
- Required to cover shifts (at any ISL) as needed during their scheduled on-call weekend.
- All other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This position is Hourly, Full-time with 40 hours a week (at least 32 direct care and reminder reserved as manager duties; split of direct care vs. manager hours will be dependent on the individual and house needs. Rotating weekend on-call.
