Ohio Auto Recycling is growing again. We are a high-volume auto recycling operation seeking a dependable and hardworking Yard Dismantler to join our team. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position that involves removing automotive parts from vehicles in our salvage yard to fulfill daily customer orders.
The Yard Dismantler will be given a list
of parts orders to complete each day. Parts can range from side view mirrors,
headlights, and speedometers to starters, alternators, suspension components,
and other automotive parts. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical
ability who enjoys physical work, can stay organized, and takes pride in
completing work correctly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove automotive parts from vehicles based on daily work orders
- Locate the correct vehicles and parts within the yard
- Remove a wide variety of automotive parts while preventing
- unnecessary damage
- Inspect parts for visible damage before and after removal
- Complete assigned orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Keep removed parts organized and deliver them to the appropriate
staging areacompleting each jobparts, or other issues encountered during removal
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the day
- Clean up tools, hardware, debris, and removed components after
- Properly care for company tools and equipment
- Follow instructions, company procedures, and daily priorities
- Communicate with management regarding completed orders, damaged
- Follow all company safety procedures while working in the yardQualifications
- Mechanical or automotive experience preferred
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair
