Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to oversee and promote a safe working environment across our operations. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for conducting field walks, observing daily safety practices, and facilitating safety meetings to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role is vital in fostering a culture of safety, preventing accidents, and maintaining the well-being of all team members.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular field walks to inspect work sites for potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform daily observations of work activities to identify unsafe behaviors or conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Facilitate and participate in safety meetings to communicate safety policies, share best practices, and address any concerns raised by staff.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations, updating policies as needed.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety procedures and training programs.
- Investigate incidents or near-misses to determine root causes and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, incident reports, and safety training activities.
- Collaborate with management and staff to promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience in safety coordination or related roles within an industrial or construction environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail during field walks and daily observations.
- Effective communication skills for conducting safety meetings and training sessions.
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Certification in Occupational Safety and Health (such as OSHA 510-Hour or equivalent) is required.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Physical ability to perform site inspections that may involve walking, climbing, or standing for extended periods.
Pay Range is $32 -38 Local highly desired but will pay per diem $125
/Day if candidate meets Requirements.
