Duties/Responsibilities:
As an Insulation Installer, you will play an important role in improving energy efficiency and comfort in residential and commercial buildings. Your primary responsibility will be to install insulation materials in walls, ceilings, floors, attics, and other areas to regulate temperature, reduce energy consumption, and create a comfortable indoor environment. You will work closely with a team of professionals, including contractors and homeowners, to ensure that insulation projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Install insulation materials, such as fiberglass, foam, or cellulose, in walls, attics, and crawl spaces following established guidelines and safety procedures
- Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific areas using appropriate tools and equipment
- Seal gaps, cracks, and air leakage points to prevent heat loss or gain using caulking, foam, or other sealing materials
- Install vapor barriers or moisture control measures to prevent condensation and moisture-related issues
- Perform insulation removal when necessary, ensuring the proper disposal of old or damaged insulation materials
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored and maintained
- Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment
- Keep updated with industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices in installation techniques
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the insulation installation process across your business.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred but not required
- Previous construction experience required
- Previous Insulation experience a plus
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Employment will be dependent on obtaining a DOT medical card and being cleared to drive a company box truck.
Physical Requirements:
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and ladders
- May stand for long periods of time
- Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles
- Bend or twist their body
- Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl
- Comfortable lifting 50lbs
Working Conditions:
- Often wear protective suits, masks, and respirators
- Often work indoors, but may on occasion work outdoors
- Are often exposed to loud and distracting sounds and noise levels
- Are on occasion exposed to high places
- Often travel to and from work sites in a truck or van
- May work in very bright or dim lighting conditions
May work physically near other installers
