THE POSITION:
Our growing company has an opening for Chemical Surface Technician I. The preferred candidate should have experience working in a manufacturing or manufacturing-related position. This position performs chemical surface operations in support of production. This position may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals and requires the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment, which is supplied by the company. This is a full-time, day shift position supporting our Donora facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- This position independently sprays and etches specified portions of metal parts and materials using immersion equipment, templates, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Able to read work order, customer provided drawings, and process specifications to determine location of etch, finished dimensions, and method and sequence of operations
- Cleans surface of parts and materials to remove contaminants
- Immerses parts and materials in etching solution for specified time, manually or using hoist
- Removes objects from etch solution, rinses objects with water, and removes remaining maskant
- Measures etched parts and materials for conformance to specifications, using micrometers, scales, and other precision measuring instruments
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Company Code of Conduct
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or a general education diploma (GED)
- Organizational skills and adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to work well in a team
- Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack a plus
- Must be able to read & use a non-metric measuring tape
- Must be able to count & perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division)
- Must be able to read & use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, thickness gauges, and micrometers.
- Previous experience operating cranes, a forklift and/or pallet jack a plus
- Requires Heavy Lifting of Parts 30lbs + and up to 100lbs with assistance Position requires various schedules when necessary, including some weekend hours and/or evening
- Prior experience with metal products a plus
- Ability to support our Glassport, PA facility when necessary.
- Due to the nature of the work performed in this job, the employee is required to wear safety glasses, safety gloves when needed, and ANSII approved steel or composite toed footwear
- Position requires various schedules when necessary, including weekend hours and/or evening

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
