National Technical Institute (NTI) is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Career Services Advisor to support students and graduates at our Las Vegas campus. In this role, you will help students prepare for employment, connect graduates with career opportunities, and build strong relationships with employers in the skilled trades.
The ideal candidate is an organized and confident communicator who enjoys helping others succeed. This position combines student coaching, employer outreach, classroom presentations, event coordination, and graduate placement tracking.
What You’ll Do
- Introduce Career Services to each new class within the first three weeks of the program.
- Enter new students into the Career Services database and maintain accurate tracking information.
- Provide students and upcoming graduates with relevant job leads and employer contact information.
- Follow up regularly with graduates to provide job-search and placement assistance.
- Track graduates during the first 180 days following graduation and prepare monthly placement reports for campus and senior leadership.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, employers, and community partners to identify employment opportunities for NTI graduates.
- Coordinate employer campus visits, classroom presentations, and other student engagement opportunities.
- Recruit employer participation for Professional Advisory Committee meetings, mock-interview events, and graduation sponsorships.
- Deliver monthly student presentations on topics such as resume writing, interviewing skills, and job-search resources.
- Partner with NTI’s Marketing and Public Relations team to recognize and highlight graduate success stories.
- Assist the Campus Director with planning and executing graduation ceremonies and related campus events.
- Represent NTI professionally and demonstrate our core values in every interaction.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in student placement, career services, recruiting, workforce development, staffing, or a similar role required.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident public-speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong relationship-building and professional communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain consistent follow-up.
- Resourceful and proactive approach to solving employment- and placement-related challenges.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, graduates, employers, campus leadership, and internal departments.
- Comfort using databases or similar systems to document outreach, employment activity, and placement outcomes.
