NB Ward Builders is seeking a highly skilled Lead Carpenter/Field Superintendent to manage residential construction projects from start to finish. This is a leadership role for an experienced craftsman who takes pride in quality, communicates professionally with homeowners, leads crews and subcontractors, solves problems independently, and consistently delivers projects on schedule.
This is not an entry-level foreman position. We are looking for someone who treats every project as if it were their own business.
Responsibilities
Manage residential remodels, additions, and custom home projects.
Lead company employees and subcontractors.
Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Schedule daily and weekly work.
Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
Maintain exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Coordinate inspections and communicate with inspectors.
Meet with homeowners professionally.
Perform high-level carpentry including:
Framing
Finish carpentry
Doors and windows
Trim
Decks
Siding
Cabinet installation
Problem-solving in the field
Maintain clean, organized job sites.
Enforce OSHA safety standards.
Complete daily job logs and progress reports.
Train and mentor apprentices.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of residential construction experience.
5+ years leading crews.
Expert knowledge of residential building practices.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to read construction drawings.
Strong communication skills.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Ability to lift 75 lbs and work outdoors.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing projects over $250,000.
Knowledge of Pennsylvania residential building codes.
Experience with estimating and material takeoffs.
Experience scheduling subcontractors.
Equipment operation experience (skid steer, mini excavator, telehandler).

Compensation
$40–$55/hour, based on experience.
