Key Responsibilities
- Incoming Material Inspection (ISO 9001: 8.4, 8.6)
- Perform receiving inspections on raw materials, components, and supplier-provided parts.
- Verify compliance against PO requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection criteria.
- Document results in inspection records; initiate Supplier NCRs when materials fail to meet requirements.
- Support Supplier Quality with sample collection, tagging, material disposition, and segregation of nonconforming product.
- Final Process & Finished Goods Inspection (ISO 9001: 8.6)
- Perform final inspections to verify that completed products meet all customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements before release.
- Review First Piece Inspection Sheets to validate proper process setup and adherence to control plans.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections according to established work instructions and control plans.
- Verify correct application of labels, markings, packaging, and documentation prior to shipment.
- In‑Process Inspection & Production Support (ISO 9001: 8.5.1, 8.5.1.1)
- Monitor product quality during production operations and verify critical characteristics as defined in the control plan.
- Confirm Poka‑Yoke and error‑proofing systems are functioning correctly.
- Identify and report process deviations or abnormal conditions immediately.
- Support destructive or functional testing (e.g., weld integrity tests) when required.
- Control of Nonconforming Products (ISO 9001: 8.7)
- Identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming material.
- Complete NCR documentation accurately and ensure timely communication to Quality Leadership.
- Support containment, re‑inspection, and verification activities.
- Metrology & Measurement System Use (ISO 9001: 7.1.5)
- Use basic metrology tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, force gauges, and torque tools.
- Follow calibration and verification procedures for measurement equipment.
- Record dimensional data accurately using approved measurement forms or digital systems.
- Documentation & Reporting (ISO 9001: 7.5)
- Maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and test results.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to document inspection results and support quality reporting.
- Prepare visual reports, charts, and summaries when assigned by Quality Leadership.
- Safety & Compliance (ISO 9001: 7.3 & 7.1.4)
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Support audits (internal and external) by providing documented evidence and participating in audit activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in inspection, quality control, or manufacturing preferred.
- Experience on product knowledge and critical characteristics.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Experience using basic metrology and inspection tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and communication skills.
- Ability to work any assigned shift, including required overtime based on production needs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive inspection tasks in a manufacturing environment.
