Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, to deliver freight efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in handling different types of cargo, such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, and specialty loads like tanker or flatbed trailers, will ensure our customers receive their shipments on time and in perfect condition. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers on diverse routes, including OTR routes, ensuring timely deliveries across multiple locations.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly according to logistics cargo handling standards.
- Navigate using GPS systems and other routing tools to optimize delivery schedules and routes.
- Transport refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials (Hazmat), or specialized loads like tanker or flatbed trailers while complying with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route adjustments, or issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailer operation, hazardous materials handling, and dangerous goods transportation.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck loading/unloading.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking.
- Strong manual handling skills for load & unload activities; experience with logistics cargo handling preferred.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
