Maintenance Technician – Full Time

Markel Management is a growing residential property management company looking for a reliable, full-time Maintenance Technician to service properties throughout the Detroit and Toledo areas.
This position is best suited for someone who takes ownership of their work, can solve problems without constant direction, and understands that maintenance in occupied homes requires professionalism and consistency.
We are building a long-term team and are looking for someone who wants steady work and opportunity as the company continues to grow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Completing daily maintenance work orders
- Responding to emergency calls when on-call
- Performing routine property inspections
- Diagnosing and completing general repairs including plumbing, electrical, appliances, drywall, and basic carpentry
- Identifying issues before they become larger problems
This is a hands-on role. The right person is comfortable working independently and managing their day efficiently.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong general maintenance experience in residential properties
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs without supervision
- Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Dependable and responsive during on-call periods
- Professional communication with residents and staff
- Someone who shows up, follows through, and takes pride in their work
Certifications are not required, but practical experience is expected.
Pay & Benefits
- $22–$23 per hour based on experience
- Full-time W-2 employment
