Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries using software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
- Perform general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Process payroll accurately and timely while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations
- Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, including debits & credits, account analysis, and account reconciliation
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and supporting documentation for internal review or external audits
- Utilize spreadsheets extensively for budgeting, data analysis, and reporting purposes
- Support office administration tasks such as managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and organizing files
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting software including QuickBooks (especially QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial systems
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices
- Proficiency in bookkeeping tasks such as double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
- Familiarity with financial concepts like GAAP standards, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management
- Ability to process payroll accurately using relevant payroll software or systems
- Excellent skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), including formula creation and data analysis
- Experience with financial report writing and general ledger reconciliation processes
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy
