Duties:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the quality standards
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Assist with meal preparation for special events or catering functions
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or culinary environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to handle knives and other kitchen equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Skills:
- Experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is a plus
- Familiarity with meal planning and portion control
- Knowledge of different cooking techniques and culinary trends
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with other staff members
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
