POSITION TITLE: Lab / X-Ray Combo
DEPARTMENT: MMC Laboratory
RESPONSIBLE TO: COO / Lab Director
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Works under supervision to perform quality radiographs in Radiology and independently perform certain routine Laboratory procedures for which he/she is qualified.
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
DUTIES:
GENERAL
1. Maintain a log on all patients.
2. Monitor and maintain supplies.
3. Maintain equipment and instrumentation.
4. Maintain QA, QC, Policy and Procedure manuals, and MSDS sheets as required by departmental protocol and regulatory agencies.
5. Complete monthly reports.
6. Interface with lab in ordering special tests and coordinating specimen pick ups.
7. Abide by employee handbook.
8. Adhere to policies and procedures.
9. Other assigned duties.
RADIOLOGY
1. Performs various radiographs on patients.
2. Develop and critique personally processed patient radiographs for errors.
3. Keep up with and document X-Ray/Processor maintenance. Keep log as required by TDH.
4. Knowledge and performance of all TDH required safety protocols.
LABORATORY
1. Perform tests and related duties in the areas of hematology, urinalysis, microscopy and microbiology using prescribed methods and techniques.
2. Perform venipuncture on adults and infants. (Heel sticks for infants.)
3. Schedule fasting glucose tolerance tests.
4. Complete CLIA testing as prescribed by departmental & protocol regulatory agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in radiology as a LMRT(or equivalent). Minimum of a valid temporary LMRT certificate. (Temporary LMRT certificate holders must obtain permanent status within one year of issuance of temporary certificate as required by state regulations.)
- Must have valid Texas license.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a Physician office lab or Clinical Reference Lab. (Graduate of an accredited Physician Office Lab Training Program can be substituted for lab experience.)
PHYSICIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to pay close attention to detail for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to sit and use a microscope for up to 8 hours per day, distinguish colors and corrected vision to normal.
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours per day, bend, stoop, twist, assist patients in turning, assist patients in rising from exam table or phlebotomy chair, push wheelchair patients, and assist patients in rising from and returning to wheelchairs.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds from floor to shelf requiring bending and lifting to a height of 4 feet.
- Ability to work in a dark room with strong odors and limited lighting.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
