Title: Cleaning Technician

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Cleaning Technician performs various cleaning duties for all properties controlled by Veterans Village of San Diego as assigned by the Facilities Director or Facilities Assistant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Follows cleaning schedule established for weekly tasks.

Disinfects areas in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.

Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as outlined on the monthly cleaning list.

Notifies Facilities Assistant of any deficiencies, supply requests, or needs for repairs.

Strip and wax floors according to schedule.

Clean carpets according to schedule.

Cooperates and supports the Facilities staff, as well as other directors/staff as requested.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:

High School diploma
- Previous experience working in a residential treatment facility preferred

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Veteran status preferred

Be able to operate floor cleaning equipment

Ability to utilize independent judgment
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at a time and problem solve in an efficient manner

Communicate orally and verbally in English
Ability to sense and abate safety hazards

Physical Requirements:
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to work in a noisy, busy environment
Flexibility to pivot from one project to another without difficulty understanding the priorities.
