Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Montessori Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. This role offers an opportunity to support early childhood development within a nurturing Montessori environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive learning atmosphere and capable of stepping into classrooms to ensure continuity of instruction and student engagement. Prior experience with children, classroom management, and familiarity with Montessori principles are highly valued.
Duties
- Implement and support curriculum development and lesson planning aligned with Montessori methods.
- Supervise and manage classroom activities, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Assist with behavior management and classroom management strategies to promote positive student interactions.
- Support individualized instruction, including tutoring in literacy, math, and other core subjects.
- Work effectively with children, including those with special needs such as autism or requiring special education accommodations.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to foster a collaborative educational community.
- Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including preschoolers and early learners.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, preferably in preschool or early childhood development.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with Montessori pedagogy and childhood education principles.
- Experience working with students with special needs or in inclusive classrooms is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Background in literacy education, math instruction, or tutoring is desirable.
- Prior private school experience or experience working with individuals with autism is advantageous.
