Healthcare SOS is looking for experienced Registered Nurses to join our team as Consulting RNs, providing temporary clinical leadership and support to Assisted Living communities throughout Minnesota.
This is an excellent opportunity for retired or semi-retired nurses, former Directors of Health Services (DHS), nurse managers, clinical leaders, and experienced RNs who want meaningful work without the commitment of a permanent full-time position.

What You'll Do
Every assignment is different, but responsibilities may include:
Clinical Leadership & Resident Care
- Provide clinical support to Assisted Living communities during staffing or leadership transitions
- Assess resident care practices and recommend improvements
- Assist nursing teams with care planning and clinical decision-making
- Support medication management, wound care, infection prevention, and other clinical best practices
- Help ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, high-quality care
Mentorship & Staff Development
- Mentor Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed staff
- Share your experience to build confidence and strengthen clinical skills
- Lead educational sessions and in-service training on current clinical practices and regulatory updates
- Coach nursing teams through challenging clinical situations
Clinical Operations & Quality Improvement
- Review clinical workflows and recommend process improvements
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives that enhance resident care and operational efficiency
- Support facility leadership with documentation reviews, clinical audits, and risk reduction strategies
- Help prepare communities for regulatory surveys and maintain compliance with Minnesota Assisted Living regulations
Collaboration
- Partner with Executive Directors, Directors of Health Services, physicians, pharmacy providers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Participate in leadership meetings and provide recommendations to improve clinical operations
- Promote positive communication among staff, residents, and families
Documentation & Compliance
- Promote accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support compliance with state regulations, company policies, and accepted standards of nursing practice
- Assist communities in maintaining quality assurance and resident safety initiatives
QualificationsRequired
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of five years of nursing experience
- Experience in Assisted Living, senior housing, or long-term care
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with facility leadership
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- Previous Director of Health Services (DHS), Clinical Manager, Nurse Manager, or other nursing leadership experience
- Experience mentoring and developing nursing staff
- Working knowledge of Minnesota Assisted Living regulations
- Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems
Work Environment
This is a flexible, project-based position requiring travel to Assisted Living communities throughout Minnesota. Assignments vary in length based on client needs and may range from a few days to several months.

Pay: $50.00 - $52.00 per hour
