Position Summary:

Arkansas State University – Mountain Home is seeking a dynamic student-driven full-time Criminal Justice Faculty member. This position is responsible for regular instructional responsibilities and leadership of key criminal justice related programs. The instructor will reach a range of criminal justice courses and coordinate multiple degrees within the program. The instructor will engage students through classroom, online, and hybrid modalities, and contribute to program development, curriculum review, and industry engagement to ensure alignment with workforce needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Teach a full load of courses in Criminal Justice subjects. The course load is 15 credit hours per semester and 30 credit hours for the 9-month contract.
Develop and update course syllabi, course content, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with program and institutional learning outcomes.
Advise and mentor students within the Criminal Justice degree programs
Serve as the coordinator for Criminal Justice programs, including curriculum review and program assessment.
Participate in college and departmental meetings, serve on committees, and contribute to accreditation and assessment processes.
Maintain office hours to support student advising and mentoring.
Serve as the coordinator for the Criminal Justice Advisory Council.
Serve as the sponsor for the Criminal Justice Club
Participate in college service, including committees, student recruitment, and professional development.
Attend graduation ceremonies and other events and activities as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

College-level teaching experience, especially in a community college setting.

Experience with online instruction and course development.

Work experience in criminal justice as a law enforcement officer or practitioner.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate hours in a Criminal Justice discipline.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to use learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).

Commitment to teaching excellence, student success, and professional development.
