Job Title: Floor Technician
Job Summary
Schedule: Daytime hours, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Monday – Friday, with every other Saturday required
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and restoring a variety of hard floor and carpeted surfaces in commercial or industrial facilities. You will operate specialized floor care equipment and perform preventative maintenance to ensure our facilities remain clean, safe, and professional in appearance. This position plays a vital role in supporting the overall cleanliness and presentation of our customers' facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine floor maintenance including sweeping, mopping, dust mopping, and vacuuming
- Strip, wax, seal, scrub, burnish, and buff hard floor surfaces
- Clean and maintain carpets using extraction and spot-cleaning equipment as needed
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment safely and efficiently
- Clean and maintain entryways, hallways, and other assigned floor surfaces
- Remove trash and debris from work areas as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and properly handle cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Inspect floors for damage or maintenance needs and report concerns promptly
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report repair needs
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete assignments efficiently and on schedule
Qualifications
- Previous floor care or custodial experience preferred but not required
- Experience operating floor machines such as buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, or carpet extractors is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, push, pull, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
- Willingness to work flexible schedules if needed
