Position Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems and physical infrastructure for five locations, one location per day. St. Pete 4th, St. Pete 22nd, Largo Eastbay, Largo Missouri, and Clearwater Gulf to Bay. This role performs a combination of preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and operational support across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general facility systems. The Facilities Technician works closely with leadership, vendors, and internal staff to maintain a professional, functional, and secure work environment.
General Maintenance & Operations
- Perform routine maintenance on facilities and building systems, making repairs as needed.
- Maintain day-to-day operations of facilities, including completing or delegating maintenance work orders.
- Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions (e.g., storm prep, freeze protection, hurricane readiness).
- Create and maintain reports on maintenance activities, repairs, safety issues, inspections, and other essential occurrences for supervisors and relevant staff.
- Assist with space moves, furniture installation, minor construction, and other operational needs.
Electrical Systems
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including lighting systems, outlets, switches, breakers, and low-voltage components.
- Replace ballasts, lamps, and fixtures as needed.
- Support contractors during higher-level electrical work and ensure work is compliant with code.
- Inspect electrical rooms, panels, and equipment to ensure safety and proper operation.
Plumbing Systems
- Conduct routine plumbing maintenance and repairs, including clearing drains, fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and inspecting supply and waste systems.
- Monitor water heaters, pumps, and irrigation systems, reporting abnormalities to supervisors.
- Respond to emergency plumbing issues such as pipe bursts, backups, or flooding.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, building systems, or a related trade.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and equipment schematics.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
