GLO Resources is currently hiring a Water Meter Reader to work locally in Zachary, LA. The starting pay is $16.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
Position Summary:The Water Meter Reader is responsible for reading residential and commercial water meters, accurately recording usage information, and reporting damaged or malfunctioning meters. This position also requires a willingness to assist with additional tasks and general labor throughout the workday as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and accurately record water meter readings using a handheld device or written log.
- Inspect meters for visible damage, leaks, or signs of tampering, and report findings.
- Travel assigned routes daily to access residential and commercial water meters.
- Maintain accurate records of meter readings and service-related observations.
- Interact professionally with customers when necessary.
- Assist with general labor and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license required.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow established procedures.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements:This position involves regular physical activity, including:
- Driving throughout the workday.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Safely navigating uneven terrain, ditches, and residential properties.
