Cardinal Hayes Home for Children is a not-for-profit agency providing residential care and treatment for young people who are developmentally disabled.
We are looking for a FT Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team and provide high-quality care to our patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering treatments and medications, monitoring patient progress, and providing education and support to patients and their families. This LPN position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and an understanding of medical terminology. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for providing compassionate care.
Primary Responsibilities as an LPN (Under Supervision of a Registered Nurse):
- Provide oversight for the health related needs of the residents.
- Participate in the development of the total plan of care for the residents.
- Be knowledgeable of resident’s medical information.
- Review all nursing communications, physician’s orders and progress notes.
- Provide care for any change in medical condition, emergencies, or injuries of residents.
- Keep medical chart current noting all changes in medical condition, follow up medical appointments etc.
- Ensure written policy and procedure for medication administration is followed by med, certified staff.
- Report medication errors and problems to supervising RN.
- Arrange medical appointments and accompany residents to appointments as deemed necessary.
- Provide training as requested by Director of Nursing.
- Attend staff meetings, treatment team, and med reviews.
- Monitor expectations as outlined in the individuals plan of nursing service and staff compliance to expectations.
This position is needed to work FT Monday-Friday daytime hours with one 11am-7pm/12pm-8pm shift needed. Drivers License Required.
