About the Role
ARC and Trade, LLC is seeking skilled Low Voltage Technicians for project-based placements with clients across New Hampshire. This role involves the installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of low-voltage systems including structured cabling, fire alarm, security/access control, audio-visual systems, and data/network cabling. Technicians are assigned to specific client projects and work under the direction of the client site supervisor for the duration of each assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/fiber) for data and telecommunications systems
- Install and program security, access control, and CCTV systems per manufacturer specifications
- Install and test fire alarm system components in compliance with NFPA 72 and local fire code
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications
- Label, document, and test all installed systems; complete as-built documentation
- Coordinate with client site supervisors and other trades to sequence work efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with OSHA standards
- Troubleshoot and repair existing low-voltage systems as needed
- Accurately report hours, materials used, and job progress to assigned project lead
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in low-voltage systems installation
- Working knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA-568) and low-voltage code requirements
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring schematics
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on ladders/lifts as required
Preferred:
- NICET certification (Fire Alarm Systems, Level I or higher)
- ESA Certified Alarm Technician (CAT) or Certified Fire Alarm Technician (CFAT)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Prior experience on commercial or institutional project sites
- Experience with [access control platforms / CCTV brands/fire alarm panel brands — customize per client needs]
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, kneel, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, seasonal temperatures)
Additional Notes
- This is a staffing placement; the technician will work under the direction and supervision of the client company for the duration of the assignment, consistent with the terms of the client services agreement.
- All work must comply with applicable NFPA, TIA/EIA, and local building/fire code requirements. This role does not require a New Hampshire Journeyman or Master Electrician license, as low-voltage signaling work is exempt from OPLC Electricians' Board licensure under RSA 319-C — provided scope of work remains within signaling/communications systems and does not involve heat, light, or power circuits.
