Responsible for the administration and coordination of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, wellness programs, and leave administration. This position serves as a primary resource for employees regarding benefits-related questions and ensures compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer various employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts, life and disability, and other benefits.
- Serve as the liaison between employees and benefit plan vendors, including insurance providers, retirement plan providers, and third-party administrators.
- Generate benefits-related reports and metrics. Analyze enrollment trends and program utilization. Assist with benefits budgeting and annual renewal processes.
- Update and reconcile month membership and billing statements for benefit plans. Request weekly and monthly funding requests.
- Act as primary point of contact for Brand HR contacts. Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Monitor compliance to benefit plan documents. Report any requested exceptions to Plan Administrator
- Evaluate existing benefits programs and strategies and make recommendations for improvement. Provide vendors with appropriate census information for plan proposals and renewals.
- Periodically audit benefit enrollment with internal payroll deduction records, expense/billing reports, and external vendor membership lists.
- Administer leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, military leave, Short Term Disability and other company leave policies. Track employee leave balances and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Coordinate communication with employees and managers regarding leave requests and return-to-work processes.
- Assist with benefits-related audits and provide documentation as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to employee benefits, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and FMLA.
- Develop and implement benefit communication strategies and materials related to education, changes, enrollment, notices and updates.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
Education:
- High School Diploma, or GED, required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources or related field, preferred.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or SHRM certification preferred.
