Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish preparation and ingredient selection to enhance the dining experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure freshness.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, serving timely dishes during busy service hours.
- Use knife skills proficiently for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food preparation tasks to optimize efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with specialized meal requirements.
- Proven restaurant or culinary experience with a strong foundation in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry standards.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling practices is essential.
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations is preferred.
- Excellent knife skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food service procedures, and customer service principles.
