Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Admissions Experience, the Assistant Director of Admissions Recruitment provides leadership and oversight for undergraduate recruitment efforts that support the University's enrollment goals. This position supervises Admissions Counselors, Recruitment Coordinators, and student recruitment staff; develops and implements recruitment strategies; manages assigned recruitment territories; and fosters relationships with schools, community organizations, and external partners. The Assistant Director serves as a key leader within the Admissions Office and contributes to the University's mission by guiding prospective students through the enrollment process and supporting strategic enrollment growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
Significant Duties & Responsibilities include:
Leadership and Supervision - Supervise and provide leadership to Admissions Counselors, Recruitment Coordinators, and student recruitment staff. Establish performance expectations and monitor progress toward recruitment and enrollment goals. Conduct regular staff meetings, coaching sessions, and professional development activities. Assist the Director of Admissions with strategic planning, goal setting, and operational management of recruitment functions. Foster a culture of student-centered service, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.;
Recruitment Strategy and Territory Management - Develop and execute recruitment plans designed to achieve enrollment goals across assigned territories and student populations. Analyze recruitment funnel data and market trends to identify opportunities for enrollment growth. Monitor application, admission, and enrollment activity to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies. Coordinate outreach efforts targeting first-year, transfer, adult, military-connected, dual enrollment, and other prospective student populations. Utilize data-informed decision-making to optimize territory management and recruitment activities. Manage assigned recruitment territories, including coordination of counselor travel, and maintain strong relationships with key schools, organizations, and community partners.;
Relationship Building and Outreach - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, community college partners, community organizations, and external stakeholders. Represent the University at college fairs, high school visits, community events, and recruitment programs. Serve as a primary point of contact for key recruitment partners and assigned territories. Develop partnerships that enhance awareness of Columbus State University and support enrollment objectives. Deliver presentations to prospective students, families, school counselors, and community groups regarding admissions, financial aid, scholarships, academic programs, and student life.;
Campus Visit and Yield Programs - At the direction of the Director of Admissions: Support the planning and execution of campus visit programs, open houses, showcase events, counselor programs, and yield initiatives. Collaborate with academic colleges, Enrollment Marketing, Student Affairs, Financial Aid, Housing, Athletics, and other campus partners to deliver exceptional prospective student experiences. Assist in developing communication and engagement strategies that increase application completion, admitted student conversion, and enrollment yield. Participate in orientation, registration, and transition programs that support student matriculation. Support the coordination and implementation of special recruitment events designed to increase enrollment and engagement.;
Data Analysis and Reporting - Utilize Banner, CRM platforms, and other enrollment management technologies to monitor recruitment performance and student engagement. Prepare reports, dashboards, and analyses related to recruitment activities and enrollment outcomes. Assess recruitment initiatives and recommend improvements based on performance metrics and institutional priorities. Maintain accurate recruitment records and ensure compliance with institutional reporting standards. Track progress toward recruitment and enrollment goals and provide recommendations for strategic adjustments.;
Strategic Collaboration - Collaborate with Enrollment Marketing to support recruitment campaigns, digital engagement strategies, and communication plans. Contribute to divisional and institutional enrollment management initiatives. Assist with the development and implementation of strategic enrollment management plans and recruitment initiatives aligned with University priorities.;
Other Duties - Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the Division of Enrollment Management and Columbus State University.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution required.; Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, or related higher education functions.; Demonstrated success in recruitment, territory management, event planning, or enrollment growth initiatives.; Experience utilizing enrollment management technologies and student information systems.; Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout assigned recruitment territories.; The Assistant Director of Admissions - Recruitment plays a critical role in advancing the University's enrollment goals by leading strategic recruitment initiatives, developing meaningful partnerships, and creating exceptional experiences that guide prospective students from inquiry through enrollment. This position contributes directly to institutional growth, student success, and the continued advancement of Columbus State University's mission.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications include: Master's degree preferred.; Supervisory experience preferred.
Proposed Salary
The proposed annualized salary for this position is $56,723 and includes full benefits.
