About the company
Taste Labs is building the data and infrastructure layer for taste.
Our goal is to end AI slop. To make AI feel right, not just be correct. We raised $18.5M in seed co-led by Amplify and CRV, and most frontier labs are already customers.
AI has nailed objective domains and can generate anything. The hard part left is judgement: what fits, what feels like you, what's actually GREAT. We're turning that into something measurable, starting with design.
We do it on two sides: building the post-training data and RL environments that teach taste to frontier models, and the context and verification tools agents need to produce work that's more creative, more on-brand, more right.
If that problem excites you, you'll like it here!
The TasteMakers Community is a curated expert network of designers, frontend engineers, creative technologists, and AI-native makers. We work with leading AI labs, tech companies, and brands to help frontier AI systems better understand taste, aesthetics, usability, and creative quality.
Our work sits at the intersection of design, human judgment, frontend implementation, and AI research — and the network is scaling rapidly across multiple concurrent projects and clients. We need world-class recruiting and talent operations to keep pace.
What we offer:
Remote-first: Work from anywhere
International coverage: Help us expand recruiting and expert support across EMEA and APAC time zones
Path to full-time: For the right person, there is potential to transition to a permanent role
Autonomy and ownership: This is not a button-pushing sourcing role — you will help shape how we find, evaluate, and onboard the best creative talent in the world
The role:
We’re looking for a Creative Talent Sourcer / Recruiter based outside of the U.S., ideally in EMEA or APAC, who can help us expand our recruiting and expert support coverage across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
This person will own the full top-of-funnel pipeline and support critical talent operations across the expert lifecycle, with a focus on helping us recruit exceptional creative and technical talent across international markets and time zones.
This is not a traditional recruiting role. You’ll be sourcing and evaluating designers, frontend engineers, design engineers, and creative technologists — people whose work spans product design, brand identity, web design, 3D/immersive, motion, illustration, React, Next.js, Swift/SwiftUI, and more. You do not need to be an expert in all of these, but you should have an appreciation for creative and technical work, the curiosity to learn the differences between disciplines, and the eye to tell a strong portfolio from an exceptional one. We’ll teach you the rest.
You’ll work closely with our Recruitment Lead to drive the recruiting pipeline from sourcing through onboarding — finding exceptional talent, managing high-volume outreach, screening applications, coordinating assessments, supporting compliance and contracting workflows, and ensuring every expert has a great experience from first touch to first project.
Because TasteMakers works with experts around the world, this role is especially important for helping us provide better coverage, faster response times, and stronger candidate support across non-U.S. time zones.
The pace is fast. The volume is high. The quality bar is uncompromising.
Responsibilities:
Sourcing & outreach
Source exceptional design and engineering talent across LinkedIn, portfolio platforms, social channels, creative communities, and other relevant networks
Build pipelines across international markets, with a focus on EMEA and APAC talent pools
Run and manage high-volume outreach campaigns across multiple channels
Research portfolios and identify candidates aligned with TasteMakers’ quality bar
Build and maintain sourcing pipelines for multiple concurrent roles
Help identify strong creative and technical communities across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia
Screening & evaluation
Review applications against selection criteria — portfolio quality, skillset fit, rate, availability, and assessment readiness
Manage early candidate engagement and communication across email and messaging platforms
Support candidates across time zones with timely, thoughtful communication
Build shortlists for project-specific staffing in collaboration with the Recruitment Lead
Help assess candidate fit for international freelance and contract-based project work
Talent operations
Coordinate the assessment process — distribute tests, track submissions, follow up, route results for review
Support compliance and contracting workflows, including background checks and onboarding documentation
Support expert onboarding logistics and project kick-off coordination
Maintain clean, accurate records in our talent database and keep the pipeline organized as we scale
Help improve operational coverage outside of U.S. business hours so experts and candidates feel supported globally
Who you are:
3–6+ years of recruiting, sourcing, or talent operations experience — ideally in creative, design, or tech recruiting
Based in EMEA or APAC time zones. You are located outside of the U.S. and can provide meaningful coverage across European, Middle Eastern, African, and/or Asian working hours
You understand creative and technical talent. You can appreciate the nuances between types of designers — brand, product, art direction, web, UX, advanced new media — and have enough technical fluency to understand what frontend engineering and design engineering roles require
Extremely organized. You can manage high volume without dropping balls — multiple projects, hundreds of candidates, dozens of open threads, all moving simultaneously
Lightning fast. You respond quickly, move quickly, and do not let things sit
Entrepreneurial and resourceful. You thrive in environments where processes are still being built. You see gaps and fill them without being asked
Thrive under pressure. This is a fast-scaling operation with real deadlines and real clients. Some organized chaos comes with the territory — and you are energized by it
Kind and candidate-obsessed. You care deeply about the expert experience. Every person in the network should feel respected, informed, and valued
Tapped into the design community. You know where designers and engineers hang out online — X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Discord, Dribbble, Behance, portfolio sites, niche creative communities — and you are comfortable engaging in those spaces
Globally minded. You have experience recruiting international freelance or contract talent across time zones, or you are excited to build that muscle quickly
Bonus experience:
Recruiting creative, design, engineering, or AI-adjacent talent across EMEA and/or APAC markets
AI-powered sourcing and outreach tools such as Juicebox, HeyReach, Clay, or similar
Operational platforms like Airtable, Notion, or similar
Compliance workflows — background checks, contractor agreements, payment onboarding
Global freelance or contractor recruitment at scale
Experience supporting distributed teams or talent communities across multiple regions
Expected time commitment:
40 hours per week with flexibility. Project load may vary based on client needs and pipeline volume.
This is a month-to-month, open-ended contract.
Path to full-time is possible for the right person, but not guaranteed.
This role is remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in EMEA or APAC to support expanded international timezone coverage.
