Duties
- Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in assembling dishes with precision and consistency, adhering strictly to recipe guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing practices
- Support the culinary team in meal preparation for service periods, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper food handling and storage procedures
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure seamless workflow during busy hours
Requirements
- Previous experience in restaurants.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including slicing, dicing, and portioning
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience with menu planning and adhering to recipe standards in a food service setting
- Understanding of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and perform physical tasks required in a busy kitchen environment
- Prior restaurant or catering experience is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential
