Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Housing Director to lead our housing programs and initiatives. This vital role involves overseeing the development, management, and coordination of housing services aimed at supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, underserved communities, and high-risk populations. The Housing Director will champion fair housing practices, ensure compliance with HUD (Housing and Urban Development) regulations, and foster partnerships with landlords, community organizations, and government agencies. Duties
- Lead the planning, implementation, and oversight of housing programs including LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8, and other housing assistance initiatives.
- Manage property operations using property management tools such as OneSite to ensure efficient leasing, maintenance, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, property owners, and community partners to facilitate housing placements and collaborations.
- Provide crisis intervention and high-risk population support through case management, motivational interviewing, and crisis management strategies.
- Ensure all activities adhere to Fair Housing regulations, HUD guidelines, and local landlord-tenant laws while promoting equitable access for diverse communities.
- Conduct client communication with sensitivity to cultural differences; support individuals with mental health conditions or addiction issues through social services and counseling referrals.
- Supervise staff responsible for case management, social work services, and housing placement efforts; promote ongoing staff training in social services best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management combined with a strong background in social services or social work related to housing support.
- Knowledge of housing regulations including LIHTC, Section 8, Fair Housing laws, and HUD policies.
- Skilled in negotiation, crisis intervention, addiction counseling techniques, and working with culturally diverse communities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with property management tools such as OneSite is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing homelessness or from underserved populations; experience supporting high-risk populations is essential.
- Strong case management skills coupled with client communication expertise; ability to motivate clients toward stability and independence.
- Familiarity with landlord-tenant law and housing assistance programs; experience working within social services frameworks is preferred.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
