Position: LEAD MAC HINIST Department: PRODUCTION
Reports To: S H O P F O R E M A N Shift: FIRST AND SECOND
Responsibility and Authority:
- Can work independently, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision.
- Can operate and set-up CNC and conventional Mills and/or Lathes.
- Can grind and sharpen tools (Endmills, drills, lathe tools, etc…)
- Can decipher and edit Fanuc G code programs
- Able to perform First Article Inspections and “Buy Offs”.
- Able to check parts and record measurements using micrometers and calipers / In-process Inspection.
- An understanding of how to read drawings, product requirements on the traveler, and know how to
identify critical characteristics.
- Deburr parts while machine is running.
- Responsible for daily maintenance on production equipment, maintaining a clean working environment,
ensuring that Foreign Objects are not mixed with conforming parts.
- Responsible for following all procedures for production and how to conduct in-process inspection of
parts, and identifying and segregating non-conforming product.
- An understanding of all tool crib operations (returning tooling used for production).
- Inherits all Responsibilities & Authorities of Subordinates
Requirements:
- Degree or Certificate in Machining Technology or related discipline preferred
- 5 years experience in high precision set-ups preferred
- Capable interpreting drawings per ASME Y14.5M-1194 & GD&T a big plus!!!
- Fanuc G code programming
- Ability to handle multiple projects
- Prolong standing for duration of shift
- Must be able to lift parts max 50 lbs
- Conduct operation first article inspections
