Job Summary : Through ongoing development and coordination of collaborative and interdisciplinary continuous data driven improvement efforts, the Quality Improvement Specialist creates a support structure within assigned department, medical staff department, or RSF Physician Partners, for achieving clinical and operational excellence. The position is critical in measuring and improving clinical outcomes. The Quality Improvement Specialist develops and assists management to implement improvement strategies. This role is responsible for the promotion of the use of statistical process control techniques, sophisticated data collection and analysis, identification of opportunities, implementation of best practice (including clinical guidelines), adherence to regulatory requirements, and promotion of safe, efficient processes. The Quality Improvement Specialist interacts continually with clinical and medical staff to provide data and solution development processes.
Job Summary for positions in Clinical Quality Services : The Quality Improvement Specialist - Ambulatory Care is responsible for day to day continuous quality improvement for assigned ambulatory care practices or regions. The Quality Improvement Specialist collaborates with Roper Saint Francis Healthcare (RSFH) key stakeholders and quality staff to promote a culture of continuous performance improvement and patient safety.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education for positions in Clinical Quality Services: Bachelor degree required; Master Degree or enrollment in graduate program preferred.
Experience for positions in Clinical Quality Services: At least 3 years of experience in healthcare organization or closely related industry. Experience in ambulatory care preferred. Direct experience with quality improvement projects required. Experience in healthcare quality/patient safety/accreditation role preferred.
Licensure/Certification: RN or clinical professional licensure preferred; CPHQ or PMP certification preferred

Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrated ability to direct specific projects, coordinate team efforts, problem solve, evaluate monitor assess, and make recommendations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to self-start with minimal supervision. Attacks problems creatively; ability to see possibilities in difficult situations. Ability to coordinate various functions. Functions as a team player. Ability to interact with individuals at various professional levels. Excellent time management, planning, and problem solving skills. Comfortable performing quantitative and qualitative analyses. Must maintain strict confidentiality of work related information. Must develop and maintain positive relationships with physicians and staff. Maintains professional, neat appearance required to promote positive image of Roper St. Francis. Strong presentation skills.
