Reporting to the Director, Sourcing – Capital/Paper, the Purchasing Assistant performs duties involved in the Purchasing and accounts payable functions. Supports internal customer needs and liaisons and coordinates corporate initiatives related to the position for the site.
- Provide support to the department for purchasing, procurement, and administrative processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve questions and address issues related to orders, invoices, and services.
- Assist with supplier onboarding and maintain vendor-related information and records.
- Support the creation, maintenance, and review of purchasing documents and transactions.
- Monitor and follow up on orders to help ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Maintain electronic and physical records, files, and documentation.
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and other inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Support inventory, catalog, and item maintenance activities as needed.
- Assist with updating pricing, supplier information, and other business records.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance-related activities.
- Provide guidance and support on procurement-related processes, systems, and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and support cost-saving initiatives.
- Support cross-functional projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
