CDL Driver – Local Sod Delivery Join Our Team as a CDL Sod Delivery Driver!
Are you an experienced CDL Driver who takes pride in safety, reliability, and providing excellent service? We are looking for a dependable and professional driver to join our team and handle local sod deliveries.
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of sod to residential and commercial customers throughout our local service area. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial driver who understands DOT and FMCSA requirements and is comfortable operating trucks and material-handling equipment.

What You'll Do
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety requirements.
- Make local deliveries of sod to residential and commercial customers.
- Safely load, unload, and transport sod while protecting the product from damage.
- Operate piggyback forklifts, forklifts, and JCB telehandlers to load and unload sod as required.
- Properly secure sod loads to ensure safe transportation and prevent shifting or damage during delivery.
- Use GPS and navigation systems to efficiently plan and navigate local delivery routes.
- Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate delivery and fuel log records as required.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, supervisors, and team members regarding delivery schedules, route changes, delays, and other issues.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service at each delivery location.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle and work environment.
- Follow all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL with the appropriate class and endorsements required for the position.
- Previous experience operating tractor-trailers and commercial vehicles.
- Commercial delivery or route-driving experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Experience operating manual-transmission trucks is a plus.
- Experience safely loading, unloading, and securing loads.
- Experience operating telehandlers, piggyback forklifts, or forklifts is required.
- Strong navigation and route-planning skills.
- Excellent driving habits and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work outdoors and in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to safely operate and work around heavy equipment.
What You'll Be Doing Every Day
As a CDL Sod Delivery Driver, you'll play an important role in getting fresh sod from our operation to our customers. You'll be responsible for operating the delivery truck, navigating local routes, safely handling the load, and providing professional service at each delivery.
This is a local delivery position, so you'll spend your workday serving customers within our local delivery area rather than OTR.
