Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately identify client needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and other evidence-based practices tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on mental health issues such as PTSD, grief, behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver therapy sessions effectively while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards.
- Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or behavioral emergencies.
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation including progress notes, treatment planning records, medical records, and patient assessments in electronic health record (EHR) systems following clinical ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with case managers, medical professionals, educators, and families to coordinate care plans that promote holistic well-being for clients of all ages.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adult populations in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, or family counseling.
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques and experience providing crisis intervention services.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health diagnoses and treatments; experience working with ICD coding systems is preferred.
- Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems for clinical documentation; telehealth experience is highly desirable.
- Background working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is a plus.
- Strong understanding of clinical documentation standards, treatment planning processes, and evidence-based practices in behavioral health.
