Assigned Location for 2026-2027 school year: Austintown Elementary School (building and report times may vary based on student needs)
Contracted Hours/Days: 5.75 hours per day; will follow the student school calendar with an additional 5 days
Salary: $15.27per hour. The starting hourly rate is in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated agreement.
Reports to: District Nurses, Building Principals, and Superintendent or designee
Evaluation: Performance in the position will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
Qualifications:

Current and valid Medical Assistant Certification preferred
-
Current CPR certification or willing to obtain

Experience in a school setting preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide health care support to students and District Nurses where needed in the District
-
Maintains correspondence with parents/guardians, school officials, and allied professionals

Provides school health services to the student population serviced as directed by the District Nurses and Building Administration

Assists and supports the District Nurses with the special needs of students in the school setting, including:

Administers medication
-
Provides first aid
-
Performs documentation and student record keeping activities

Maintains correspondence with parents/guardians, school officials, and allied professionals.

Must have the ability to deal with a variety of situations and personalities

Excellent customer service skills

Must be able to work as part of a team and interact with people in a professional, friendly, supportive manner at all times
Requirements must be on file before starting

Appropriate and valid Medical Assistant Certification if applicable

Current Favorable State (BCII) and Federal (FBI) background checks
