Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient preparation and dish assembly techniques
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, including slicing techniques and knife skills
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality control
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or catering environment is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with a focus on food preparation, cooking techniques, and recipe adherence
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and food safety management practices
- Experience working with dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure smooth operations
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
