Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machine Shop Helper! In this energetic role, you will support the operation and maintenance of various CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other fabrication equipment. Your hands-on assistance will be vital in ensuring precision machining, quality control, and efficient workflow within our manufacturing facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills in machining, blueprint reading, and materials handling while contributing to high-quality production processes.
MUST be able to pass a nationwide background check and drug test.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC machines such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes under supervision.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to ensure accurate machining.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling tools to move raw materials and finished products within the shop
- Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Assist with fabrication tasks involving welding, blasting, broaching, and material finishing.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by supporting routine housekeeping, tooling management, and inventory control.
- Follow safety protocols diligently when operating hand tools or working around machinery.
- Support quality control efforts by inspecting machined parts for accuracy and consistency before packaging or assembly.
Experience
- Prior factory or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or CNC programming is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), SolidWorks or similar CAD software is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical tools such as calipers, micrometers, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments is desirable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of manufacturing processes like fabrication, machining, welding, and materials handling.
- Good communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately in a fast-paced environment.
