Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers, including brake systems, suspensions, axles, and electrical components.
- Conduct fabrication and welding tasks as needed to repair or modify trailer parts or equipment.
- Maintain and repair heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and technical manuals.
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, shocks & struts, and other mechanical systems.
- Use power tools and hand tools to assemble, disassemble, or replace components with precision.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks including tire service, wheel alignments, suspension adjustments, and HVAC system repairs.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and adhere to manufacturer specifications; document work performed accurately.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or in a dealership environment with heavy truck repair.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, diesel mechanics, hydraulic systems, and vehicle diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with schematics reading for complex machinery repairs.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate equipment like forklifts or tractor-trailers.
- Prior experience in welding, fabrication, or equipment assembly is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.
