Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly.
- Handle cash drawer operations, including cash handling, balancing registers, and reconciling sales at shift end.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information or store policies.
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers, enhancing their shopping experience.
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain knowledge of store merchandise, stock levels, and product placement to assist customers effectively and support merchandising efforts.
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store remains clean, inviting, and well-organized.
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when handling inquiries or customer concerns over the phone.
- Support supervising staff in daily operations when required, including overseeing team members during busy periods or assisting with training new employees.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
- Bilingual skills are a plus to better serve diverse customer needs.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math is advantageous for accurate transactions.
- Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with customers confidently and professionally.
- Experience in supervising or leading small teams can be beneficial but is not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising practices, and stock management will help you excel in this role.
