Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills to join our team working with healthcare partners state-wide to collectively enhance our readiness for emergencies impacting the public’s health. This position works within a fast-paced, strategically-focused, federally-funded program that enjoys national prestige. We are seeking an individual to help us nurture our relationships and enhance our work to safeguard Missouri’s citizens through emergency preparedness and planning.
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
What you’ll do:
- Primary duties will be to facilitate the development, implementation and maintenance of state-level public health and health/medical emergency operation plans to include: patient movement, emergeing infectious disease, medical surge, repatriation, reunification, New Madrid Seismic Zone, and other public health and health/medical specialty plans and annexes as necessary. This will include collaborating with a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary, state-wide partners. This position is responsible to assure training necessary for partners’ implementation of the plans and oversight of applicable exercises.
- Assist the Program Manager with annual grant application preparation and submission to include annual budget; assist Program Manager with preparation of all required reports including on required performance measures and any special reports required by ASPR.
- Assist the Program Manager with planning and preparation activities for all HPP Contractors' quarterly meetings, bi-annual Missouri Healthcare Coalition Leadership Partnership meetings and other work group meetings as requested or assigned.
- Collaborate with HPP Program Manager and HPP Staff with responsibility for oversight of the preparation of the DHSS Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) and contractors' scopes of work, annual work plans and budgets for both the core HPP funding for review by Program Manager. Assist with contractor monitoring with regard to grant-required project completion.
- The position may also assist with similar or aligned work activities relative the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program (PHEP) funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in public health or related field and 3 or more years relevant experience. (Substitutions allowed)
- Experience in healthcare preparedness, emergency planning, and healthcare response operations preferred.
- A clinical or direct patient care background is a plus.
