Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a diverse selection of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Engage with guests to understand their preferences, recommend drinks or menu items, and enhance their overall experience.
- Operate POS systems such as Toast to process orders accurately and efficiently while handling cash transactions securely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Manage multiple tables or bar stations simultaneously through effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Develop new beverage recipes or variations to keep the menu fresh and exciting for returning guests.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food and beverage service during busy periods or special events like banquets and catering functions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or hospitality industry roles, especially in fine dining or upscale environments.
- Demonstrated cocktail mixing skills with knowledge of mixology techniques and beverage recipe development.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast and cash handling procedures.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits, craft beers, brewing processes, and beverage trends.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while multitasking across multiple responsibilities.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing retail math calculations related to sales or inventory.
Preferred qualifications include experience with food safety standards, banquet or catering experience, familiarity with food handling procedures, and previous roles involving bar management or hospitality industry expertise.
